1. Visit the town center and see the Port

When we went to Cadiz we were amazed at the town center. We parked at the port underneath where the cruise ships were. First of all we were absolutely amazed at the size of the ships. There were about 3 massive cruise ships in the port when we were there. It was hard to take your eyes off them. There were also lots of yachts and smaller boats which made the port look beautiful. Across from the port is this amazing street pictured above. Its full of cafes and small streets. It is so pictureque and worth every minute of the visit.

2. See the Cathedral

After winding through tiny little streets from the beach we came across this huge square with a very impressive Cathedral in it. We love the architecture and it is totally worth a visit. You can go inside and visit the Cathedral for the full experience or simply get a coffee in the courtyard and look up at it. It is so beautiful and can be seen from all the way across Cadiz. We walked from our hotel down to the Cathedral and it was in our eyesight for the whole walk down the coast. Beautiful scenery for a wonderful walk.

3. Admire the monument

The Monumento a la Constitution de 1812 represents the politcal movement that was sparked by the constitution. It took 17 years to build and is super intricute. I reccomend heading to this plaza with a Cafe con leche from a local cafe and just admiring all the details. We did this and read all the history about the monument, it was amazing. Each part of the monument represents something and is super well designed. It stands tall in a little park near the port.

4. See the Roman Amphitheatre

On our walk along the beach we stumbled across the Amphitheatre. It still has a lot of the structure left from the Roman times and is a walk back in time to see. You walk through the amphitheatre from the city centre side and end up on the otherside of the theatre by the beach. It is an interesting view and there was a lot of information about Cadiz in Roman times which as a latin nerd, I loved. Defo worth looking at while in town.

5. Enjoy the Sunset

We walked back along the beach side of the island to our hotel and saw the most amazing sunset. There were people surfing all along the coast while the sun spit out amazing orange and pink rays. We took some amazing pictures and just sat and enjoyed the sound of the ocean and the beautiful sunset. We also saw a cruise ship leaving the port at sunset which was also a really cool view with the sun bouncing off the ship. It was very relaxing to get to just sit and relax while we admired the sea, the sand and the sun!
